The collar and sleeves are in contrasting fabric, the background being dark blue with small light blue flowers. The contrast of the sleeves and collar with the dress body gives it the appearance of a jumper and blouse. The smocking is light blue and white. A dark blue satin ribbon is woven zig-zag through the smocking at the top of the dress.
